How many sessions?
As a general rule, most people find that weekly sessions work best. However, we all have different needs and circumstances. As counselling progresses, we can work out together how frequently to meet and how many sessions is right for you.
-
What should I expect?
The first session is for you to talk about what is on your mind, your hopes for counselling and to ask any questions. If you feel comfortable talking with me, then we can plan further sessions but there is no obligation to continue.
-
Confidentiality?
Everything we talk about is confidential. The only exception is if there is a safeguarding concern or risk of serious harm.
-
Do you have a supervisor?
As a registered BACP member I am bound by the organisation's ethical guidelines. It is also a requirement for me to meet monthly with a supervisor for 1.5 hours.
-
Privacy policy?
I do have a privacy policy. Please ask me if you would like a copy.

What if I am in crisis?
I do not provide any emergency services. Please call 999 if you are in danger. For urgent help, please try your local GP’s out of hours emergency line, or NHS 24 on 111, or Samaritans on 116 123.
